Shenzhen's Elderly and Childcare Services Embrace a Major Smart Upgrade! During the first Shenzhen International Smart Elderly Care Industry Expo from September 15th to 17th, the Shenzhen Smart Elderly Care and Childcare Service Platform and the Shenzhen Smart Elderly Care Call Center made their official debut, creating eight major smart scenes and showcasing the forward-looking exploration and practice of Shenzhen state-owned enterprises in the field of smart elderly care.
Currently, Shenzhen is vigorously developing home-based elderly care services and has initially formed a "90-7-3" pattern of elderly care services, with 90% of the elderly people receiving care at home. Elderly people who receive home-based care, especially those who are disabled or suffer from dementia, often face difficulties such as difficult identification of emergencies, unmet diverse needs, and high costs of caregiving.
To address the aforementioned challenges in home-based elderly care, under the guidance of the Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau, Shenzhen Happiness and Health Group, as a state-owned elderly care and childcare platform, has established the Shenzhen Smart Elderly Care and Childcare Services Platform, which provides precise and intelligent services to government departments, elderly care institutions, and the general public.
By integrating smart terminal resources, efforts are focused on enhancing the "sense of security" in home-based elderly care. In the Xiangmihu Street of Futian District, the platform has piloted the construction of home-based care beds. By establishing 35 home-based care beds and combining six categories of monitoring and alarm devices including fire and smoke detectors, water immersion sensors, combustible gas detectors, motion sensors, emergency buttons, and sleep monitors, it provides safety monitoring services for the elderly. As of July, the installed smart devices have responded to emergency calls or device alerts 158 times.
The platform has also built an intelligent elderly care service network to address the diverse needs of the elderly. It efficiently provides eight intelligent scenarios, including smart meal assistance, a 15-minute elderly care service circle, management of home-based community activities, safety monitoring of institutional care rooms, health management of home-based care beds, safety monitoring of home-based care beds, video linkage for on-site service work orders, and hierarchical monitoring on large data screens. Currently, it has introduced 1,487 merchants through mini-programs for the elderly and their families, providing seven categories of service resources: public welfare, convenience, home-based care, health, lifestyle, meal assistance, and entertainment services. It has provided over 20,000 home-based and on-site services. It is worth mentioning that the platform has established mechanisms for merchant access, service supervision and evaluation, as well as government regulation to ensure a wide range of services and good service quality.
The newly launched Smart Elderly Care Call Center aims to create a new stronghold for smart elderly care in Shenzhen. Through IoT monitoring of smart devices, it provides real-time alerts for elderly people's safety and health anomalies, integrates service response teams, supports emergency calls for help and regular care, and guarantees the living services and safety and wellness needs of elderly people receiving home-based care, forming a comprehensive service ecosystem.
The Shenzhen Happiness Home Smart Childcare System operates and manages childcare centers online through a big data platform while establishing an online communication bridge between teachers and parents. The headquarters' large screen displays the distribution and opening status of Shenzhen Happiness Home centers, while the center's big screen presents air quality, real-time monitoring, occupancy status, daily routines, and scientific dietary systems to parents, creating a transparent and excellent service through intelligent environment creation and standardized center systems.
